Getting started

What to gather, whose name everything goes in, and what happens from the first call to launch day.

Most of this is things you already have. Gathering it before we start means your site is built with your real details from day one, not placeholders.

What to gather

What's in your name

You buy your domain name (like yourbusiness.com) in your own name and pay for it directly, along with any booking or email service. That way they're always yours. Where your site is hosted is something we settle when we start.

I never ask for your passwords. When an account needs setting up, you sign in yourself and I tell you what to click. If I need to work in an account, you add me to it, and you can remove me any time.

Your video, and your colors

Send 6 to 10 seconds of video of your work, your storefront or your truck, with the phone held steady (sideways or up and down both work). No talking needed: it plays without sound, and I remove the sound from the file completely.

It plays behind your headline with a dark layer over it, so the words stay easy to read, and I pick your site's colors from it. If anyone recognizable is in it, I need their written OK. Visitors who turn off motion, and most phones, see a still picture from it instead, which keeps the site fast.

From first call to launch

It takes at least 3 business days from the time I have your details, and nothing goes public until you've seen it. You pay when it's delivered.

  1. We talk it through

What you do, who your customers are, and what the site needs. You get the price in writing before I start.

  2. You send your details

Everything on the list above. Anything that's missing can be added later.

  3. I build it

On the same design and security as my own site, with your words, prices and look.

  4. You check it

You look over every page, and I change anything that isn't right before it goes public.

  5. It goes live

Your domain points at the site, and I check it again once it's live. Then Google, Bing and Apple can find it. You pay then, by card through Square.

After launch

Stopping support. Your $300 pays for the website and a year of support together, as one purchase, so there's nothing separate to cancel. When the year is up, you decide whether to renew.
