Pick a color look

Each look was made from the colors in a photo or a picture. Press Try this look, then open any page: the whole site shows in that look on your screen, until you close the tab.

A look can also be made from the restaurant's own photo: its sign, storefront, dining room or a favorite plate.

Try a font, a layout or motion

Each link opens the home page with that choice. It stays while you click around, until you close the tab. The Style button at the top does the same on every page.

Font

  • Archivo Clean and modern. The template's own font.
  • Fraunces A warm, rounded serif.
  • Oswald Tall, bold capitals, like a sign or a menu board.
  • Playfair Display Elegant, high-contrast serif, like a fine restaurant menu or a boutique.
  • Space Grotesk Modern and a little techy, with clean reading text.
  • Bricolage Grotesque Bold and full of character, for a business that wants to stand out.
  • Nunito Round and friendly, all the way through. Good for kids, pets and cafes.
  • Josefin Sans Vintage capitals with an art deco feel.
  • Caveat Handwritten headings, like a chalkboard sign. Bakeries, food trucks, crafts.

Layout

  • Normal Clean and simple: cards with thin edges, square corners and the mountain ridge under the top of the home page.
  • Seamless Soft and open: the top fades into the page, sections blend into each other, rounded floating cards.
  • Bold bands Like a menu board: thick color edges, menu sections under colored bands, numbered dishes in tags.
  • Centered Everything on a center line, and the menu in one column like a printed menu.
  • Opaque The photo stays fixed behind the whole site, with every section on a solid, frosted panel over it.
  • Editorial Light and quiet, like a fine-dining site: a big centered headline, the picture in an arch, round buttons.

Text

  • Black text Light pages with black text, and the dark top and bands.
  • White text Dark pages with white text everywhere, in the same colors.

Motion, from the video

  • Keyhole The video opens from a keyhole, then plays forward and back as you scroll.
  • Liquid glass The video behind the whole site, a glass top bar, and a glass lens that follows your mouse.
  • Scene change The video behind the whole site melts into a new scene and color at each section.
  • Color flow A soft shape behind the page changes shape and color section by section, in the video's colors from start to end.
  • Video windows The video stays pinned behind the site; you see it through open windows between sections in its colors.
  • No motion style The video plays at the top only.
