We want everyone to be able to read our menu, find our hours and reach us, including people who use a screen reader, magnification, voice control or a keyboard instead of a mouse. If anything here gets in your way, call (575) 555-0187 and we'll help you directly.
What this site aims for
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What has been done
- The menu is a real web page, not a picture or a PDF, so screen readers, zoom and translation tools can read every dish and price.
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, and you can always see where you are on the page.
- Every form field has a visible label, and mistakes are explained in words next to the field.
- Text is dark enough against its background to meet the WCAG AA contrast minimum. The site's build checks this for every color.
- Pages are organized with headings and labelled sections, so screen reader users can jump straight to what they need.
- There are no pop-ups and no time limits. The video at the top of the home page has a pause button, and it doesn't play at all if your device asks for reduced motion.
- The menu, hours and directions all work without JavaScript.
